In last book of the Old and the first book of the New, God tells His passion for marriage. I have noted those text and ask that you critique, steal, use these thoughts to encourage married couples in your sphere of influence!!

7 Ways to Guarantee a Divorce
#1 Think you will never have one!
I am strong, I am above that, my wife would never, my husband would never
If you think this way your marriage is toast!
Psalm 119:9, 11 “How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word…I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”
#2 Leave God out!
Ephesians 5:25 “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her… “
Marriage is a picture of God’s Redemption
Rev. 21:2 “I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.”
Psalm 34:3 “Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.”
Spiritual Leadership and Supporting His Mission
God is most glorified in your marriage, when you are most satisfied in God!
#3 Believe your relationship should be pain free!
I just deserve to be happy is the biggest lie on the planet!!
#4 Stop the Romance!
WHEREVER SIN LIVES, INTIMACY DIES.
WHEVERER INTIMACY LIVES, SIN DIES.

Pursue Her with Your:
Conversation, Thoughtfulness, Affection, Protection
Pursue Him with Your:
Admiration, Reassurance, Support, Skin
TO GET WHAT YOU HAVE NEVER HAD, YOU MUST DO WHAT YOU HAVE NEVER DONE.
TO GET WHAT YOU ONCE HAD, YOU MUST DO WHAT YOU ONCE DID.

#5 Choose not to Forgive!
Forgiveness is not a feeling…it is a choice… just like love!
Four Promises after Forgiveness:
1) I promise I will not think about this incident.
“Love is kind…does not envy” 1 Cor. 13:4
2) I promise I will not bring this incident up and use it against you.
“Love keeps no record of wrong.” 13:5
3) I promise I will not talk to others about this incident.
“Love does not gossip.” 13:6
4) I promise I will not allow this incident to stand between us or hinder our personal relationship.
“Love is not proud.” 13:4
#6 Sort of Communicate
Communication is 7% words, 38% tone, 55% facial expressions.
Communicate with respect not for reaction.
James 1:19 “Everyone should be quick to listen and slow to speak.”
Musts to Communicate:
Finances, Calendar, Kids, Quiet Time-Daily!!
#7 Think you will never have one!
I know it’s twice!! Failure begins with ego!
You cannot cut corners in your marriage and expect success!
If you think God is OK with your marriage that is not OK… your doomed for disaster!
Hebrews 13:4 “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral…”

Marriage, sharing ones life with another, to feel so strongly about someone other then yourself and have the same feelings returned no questions asked, is as almost being loved beyond measure. Young people, know this, your marriage is as strong as the love and trust you put into it. Many things will happen, most will come and go, but the love for one another is so strong it stands the test of time, Tis is truly a gift from God, for all your hard work…
