A Fresh Wind of Revival!
Categories: Uncategorized

revival-crowd1God is doing a fresh work of revival at Brand New Church. My life has been pruned, and I am in awe of what is transpiring! Not only my life, but so many of the lives within our church are budding with new and fresh spiritual growth. Thank you for sharing with me how God is changing you and continue to share here in the comment portion of this blog.

What is Revival? I heard Jim Cymbala say, “The devil is not terribly frightened of our human efforts and credentials. But he knows his kingdom will be damaged when we begin to lift up our hearts to God.” The enemy is shuttering at what is taking place here at Brand New Church…it’s happening through weak, lame, blind vessels that are hungry to meet with our God.

I am watching:
1) Nominal believers (which is an oxymoron) are becoming passionate Christ followers.
2) Confession, conviction and repentance of sin is flowing freely. I love seeing hearts being renewed.
3) Lives and relationships are seeing forgiveness.
4) People are being healed spiritually and physically.
5) Giving is exploding!!
6) Worship through song is obedient and obvious through the week.
7) Pride is being broken with humility.
8 ) Fervor for holiness and compassion for the lost in growing daily.
9) Zeal for The Holy Perfect Word of God.
10) Renewed focus in expressing and experiencing the Power of the Holy Spirit. Not excitement and emotionalism.
11) Marriages renewed!
12) God’s Spirit revitalizing and empowering once impotent and anemic church members are now displaying God’s glory to a lost world.
13) Staff excellence like I have never seen!

God is attracted to weakness. He can’t resist those who humbly and honestly admit how desperately they need him. That is what is happening in my life and the lives of Brand New Church. Thank you God, for all that it is happening in our lives and all over the world.

What is your definition of Revival? Tell me about the Revival that is happening in your life. We look forward to seeing you this weekend online or at one of our campuses or house churches this weekend.

Shannon – great to see you on Facebook – so wonderful what’s going on in NW Arakansas – keep up the good work my brother! Blessings to you and your great family! We love you!

  2. What is revival? I believe it’s a term that many churches use for a celebration or boisterous gathering where they renew the “life” of the church members and raise awareness in the community. The beautiful thing is that this is a daily thing for Brandnewchurch! BNC is shoulders deep in the community, and is constantly celebrating the King and renewing the hearts of its members and visitors. One of the many things I LOVE about Brandnewchurch.

  3. Landry says:

I use to think that revival would come in the form of signs and wonders. But what I’m seeing is that revival is beginning with the spiritual dead within the church coming to life and the people who have been pew warmers for decades are beginning to find out why they are actually at church. Also the hunger for correct doctrine is a huge part of this revival. It’s about getting it right scripturally not doing it “right” traditionally.

  4. Laurie says:

revived & given another chance to live again in a new light & awareness.

  5. Tori says:

Revival~ IT is personal, by that I mean its a matter of the heart You will begin to have a hunger and a thirst for the things of God on every level!! You will not want to compromise the TRUTH found in God’s word. Matt5:6~Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will be filled. When you experience true Revival, you will “spill out!” Each day YOU WILL KNOW your FORGIVEN & want OTHERS to know they can be too. YOU WILL LOVE like Jesus’ loves…YOU WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN!!
Revival began in my own life when I began to live out God’s Word. Personally I have read the Bible nearly my entire life, but God showed me, through Brand New Church, that application was essential in the growth process. When I began to sincerely Delight myself in the Lord through the good times and the not-so-good times, Jesus became my clarity.

  6. Heather Kizer says:

Revival began for me when God revealed to me that it’s not all about me in this life. In fact, He created us for eternity…this life is a vapor and we only have a short time to spead the truth of Christ to a lost and dying world. Revival is constantly being aware that people around us are dying and going to hell, and being obedient to serve and being aware that God gave us a purpose (which is to reach the lost). Revival begins when the truth of God’s word opens our eyes to see beyond our routine little lives and shows us there is so much more!

  7. stacy says:

I tried to send this via the website, didn’t go through, oh well!!!

Wow. I went to Eagle Heights Baptist a long time ago, I thought you were supposed to be a nice person, but..I was WRONG.

I can’t believe what a SCAM this new “church” of yours is, and that so many people are falling for this b.s. you call BNC. BRAND NEW CULT? BIG NEW CHEAT?
    Tithe is 10% not 15%
God doesn’t require you sign a contract to worship Him in His house.
God doesn’t have an ATM at the Pearly Gates.
God doesn’t call your cell phone.

The old lady who made this ostentatious lifestyle you are leading did not leave her money for the upkeep of her beloved church for you to turn around, tear it down, buy yourself an ozone destroying SUV, throw out the benches the parishoners donated to the church and buy yourself a big fancy house. She did it for her church, not YOU, you selfish slimeball!!!

I thought preachers were supposed to live a modest lifestyle, not like some idiot Hollywood Hotshot..but I hear you actually have a jet or a helicopter to transport you from church to church? Uh..it’s called a CAR.

But, then again, if these people you’ve SUCKED into your cult are willing to part with their money so easily, it’s a little hard to feel sorry for them.

It’s so hard for me to fathom that you actually make them sign a contract to join your cult. A contract swearing that they will pay 15% of their income. You’re such a scam artist, a con artist, O’Dell.

    Ring ring..Karma is calling.

    • Robbie Evans says:

stacy, I do not know where you got your facts about BNC,but I was a devoted member for over 3years until GOD called me away. Everything you said is very much incorrect, nothing but rumors!!!!!

  8. stacy says:

    Is that so?

Prove me wrong, Robbie, I’d really love it.

Show me that the SSBC is still fully intact, with the Bibles, pews, records etc. still there, and that the original members of that church were given it back after Shannon decided to spend it on himself.

Tell me how many members of SSBC are currently attending this carnival? The ones who aren’t– did Shannon do the Christian thing and give the church back to them? No…

He’s not spending the buckets and buckets of money [that you're told to put in more than your neighbor] on his car, sound sytem, ridiculous transportation and his home mortgage?

Again, not living the lifestyle of a humble preacher, more like some money hungry Hollywood hotshot.

I’ve seen the ATM in the lobby, TACKY!!

In the words of the great and wise Judge Judy, “If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck..it’s a duck!” In this case, it smells like a scam to me! Is Shannon going to “heal” people next?? Move over, Jim Bakker.

  9. Heather Berry says:

Stacy that is quite funny that you have seen an ATM in the lobby!! I am a SSBC member abd have gone to the church for a long time!! I cracks me up that you know where the ATM is and I don’t!! Shannon lives in a Hollywood home!! Really!! Don’t knock it til u try it!!! Shannon keep doin what ur doin because for a CULT you sure do preach GOD’S word!!! Preach it brother!!

  10. stacy says:

Um the SSBC was in Lead Hill, I am referring to the ugly gymnasium like building now referred to as BNC in Bergman. Yeah, Heather, it’s there just beyond the front glass door, right there in plain view.

You must not be very observant, Heather, if you walk in every week and go right past it.

  11. Cindy says:

Stacy, I would love for you to come visit our church so that I can take you on a tour. Better yet, I would love to sit down with you and tell you what God is doing and has done in my life! I would also like to tell you stories of people that have been led to Christ over the satellite system via the hummer, who were lost and going to hell. I think you are totally missing the point. We as Christians are to lift each other up and encourage each other. Not knock each other down. God is using Brand New Church to reach thousands weekly. We as Christians should also be about bringing the lost closer to God, no matter the cost! I will be praying that God softens your heart and allows your eyes to be opened to the great works being done through Brand New Church. Shannon, you are a true man of God and I am thankful to have you as a pastor and a friend!

  12. Angela says:

    Stacy,
Whenever you decide to visit Brand New Church, I will be the first one to greet you at the door. I will put to rest all your concerns and rumors. I can’t believe someone could even begin to spread such gossip, and when you do get there be sure you show me where that ATM machine is for some Sundays I forget my check book and I could easily get my tithing money from it.

  13. Leslie Moon says:

Okay, I never reply to these but WOW!!! Reading Stacy’s comment makes my stomach churn. These are the same unbelievable rumors that drove my husband and I to leave SSBC. I was a member of SSBC from the time I was 9 years old along with unobservant Heather. Actually it was Heather that dragged me to church every Sunday when I was a kid! It wasn’t until my husband and I swallowed our pride and gave BNC another shot that we realized we were actually part of that lost and dying world. God used Shannon and BNC to change our lives completely. This church may not have pews or even an attendance/offering plaque hanging on the wall but what it does have is devoted followers of Christ who are willing to do whatever it takes to reach the lost. And by the way, Shannon does not have a helicopter to take him from church to church…he has a 90’s something model Chevy Suburban that has 200 plus thousand miles on it that has somehow survived the wrath of 4 kids that he drives from church to church. I can only pray that people will stop buying into the rumors and try this place of worship out. Because it is an AMAZING place of worship.

  14. Crissie says:

Let me first say I do not attend BNC I attend another church in town. Isn’t wonderful that we have the freedom to attend any church we feel that God has led us to weather it be BNC or a country church down a dirt road. If we worried less about what this church is doing or not doing and more about winning people to Christ I think we would have allot more people going to Heaven!! I do not know what goes on at BNC because I do not attend so I can not make judgement, all I can do is have faith that God knows who is doing His work and if they are doing His work for themselves and not for Him they will have thier judgement day. If you worry so much about other people, then what are you doing for Him? It’s not about BNC or any other church it’s about Jesus. And he will lead you to the church that He feels you are needed, if you have faith that He will. I think we need to worry more about salvation!!! My question is do you think BNC is not of God? Then pray about it He will answer, we need to worry less about we think is right or what we think should be done and more about God wants.

    • John says:

Crissie, Why would you lie about the ATM being there. I have attended BNC and saw it myself.
Does Shannon not tell you that it is a SIN TO LIE, or is that another thing that BNC audience do not want to hear. Many things have been put on Shannon blogs and BNC people say it is not true. I agree that some is not true but most is, why are you refusing to believe what you see and hear. Has Shannon blinded you to the truth too?

      • Deanna says:

The closest thing to an ATM we have at our church is a thing called a cash register, that is used in our cafe and for the sale of christian mechandise. Which there are many churches across the country who have cafe’s and bookstores in their churches. The baptist church we attended in Little Rock, GSFBC, has both.
Never seen a helicopter or plane, that is interesting, the things people make up. Every church is different & I have been to many in my life, but you know I have never talked ugly or started rumors about tother churches, kinda pointless, that can only fuel the fire for those who are looking for excuses to not attend churches. That is truely sad.

    • Let me first say I do not attend BNC I attend another church in town. Isn’t wonderful that we have the freedom to attend any church …

… or the freedom to not attend any church at all.

  15. Ashley says:

Unbelievable, Stacy! It’s obvious you haven’t spent any time with Shannon and his family, or spent any significant time at BNC, because every bit of your information is inaccurate. I can’t imagine why you could be so bitter and angry but I encourage you to visit BNC to see for yourself there is no helicopter, ATM or “contract”. Or a 15% tithe, for that matter. Nor does our Pastor live in a “Hollywood” house, as I’ve been there several times myself. Who in the world is filling your head with all this garbage? Only someone who does not attend BNC either. Proverbs 10:14 says “Wise men store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool invites ruin.” I invite you to visit BNC, and store your own knowlege, rather than relying on the words of others. And, if you do visit, the “slimeball” as you called him, would be the first one to welcome you into his church and modest home, with open arms despite your terrible attack on him personally.

Proverbs 6:16 – 19 There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:
haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies, and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers

  16. Stacy says:

    Sweet Ashley,

As far the people who’ve provided this information, they actually ARE informing me from first hand knowledge. They attended BNC, and I trust these people. There would be ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for them to lie. Did I mention that one of them is a clergyman from a local church who visited the BNC? I’m 100% positive he’s not a liar.

Regarding the ATM, what else, right in the front door of your lobby would that be? I know what an ATM looks like, and that most definitely, is an ATM.

Sorry to have caused a ruckus, and name calling is beneath me, so I apologize for the that. It was mean spirited. I wrote that when I was in a tizzy about this.

But I DO feel like this is a scam, that the wrong thing was done with this person’s will money money, that if you had this sort of a vision, Shannon, you should have left the church and let someone else who would use it for the upkeep of SSBC as it was, as the elderly man intended, not make it into your own personal circus. This is my last post/visit here. (And no, thank you, I will not be visiting the BNC, not only because I live out of state, but I also have 0 interest.)

  17. Derek Simpkins says:

I’ve got to agree that an ATM would be nice. lol. I, too, forget my checkbook at times. Thankfully, we’ve got that gas-guzzling Hummer with a satellite dish on top of it that has enabled us to do wonders with the iCampus, which is an easy way to give on those occasions in which we forget. And personally, I think I would worry less if, instead of driving from campus to campus on a Sunday afternoon battling the worst traffic known to man, Shannon were above the traffic in a Helicopter… Talk about reaching the lost!

In all seriousness, Shannon, I thank you for what you are doing, and what God is doing through you, at brandnewchurch! If it wasn’t for the vision and all-around environment at BNC, I may have never been saved. I love my extended family at BNC!

  18. Sherry T says:

Guys…I am blown away with all that I have just read. None of that is true. Stacy, you are making accusations based on what someone else has told you? You have never actually seen or heard these things? You my sister in Christ, have just allowed other people to make you look like an utter fool. One of the 10 commandments says “Thou shalt not bear false witness” Honey, you have attacked God’s children, for a lie. Please come to church Sunday morning and show me the jet and the ATM machine.
Or, maybe you are just pulling our leg…to get us stirred up. I will pray for you anyway.

Deanna I am talking about the BNC in Bergman, not Little Rock.

    • Deanna says:

      John,
      Sorry to inform you but….

I attend the BNC-Bergman Campus and there is NOT an ATM!!!
I would be happy for you attend our Bergman campus, introduce yourself to me at the cafe and would LOVE for you to show me the ATM.
John, I will pray for you, and those who are leading you astray with rumors.
      As Ashley stated above:
Proverbs 6:16 – 19 There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:
haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies, and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.
I think that you can pick out the ones that apply. I wish you well, and that God would give you a heart to see the Truth.

  20. Jim says:

I have to admit when I read most of this last night, I was very close to responding. Having seen what has transpired today, I feel I must respond. I have one question for everyone who seems so concerned about an ATM: What difference does it make whether there is an ATM at the church or not? Does it change the message of Jesus Christ that is preached every weekend? Certainly not! (I borrowed that from Paul, the apostle.) Lives are changed every week at BNC. These lives would still be changed if there was an ATM in the lobby. I cannot speak for anytime prior to Dec., 2007, but since I have been attending BNC there has never been an ATM in the lobby. I and others that have responded are in the lobby every weekend. We should know whether or not there is an ATM in our midst. In closing, I will repeat my question: What difference does it make?

    • John says:

What does God’s Word say about having money changers in the house of God, like book store, cafe, and more. Most people say well other churches do that and so on…..

      • I would like to add that on numerous occasions I have helped empty out the lobby at BNC. I have carried couches, chairs, tables, plants, book shelves, door mats, trash cans, and small counters. I have pushed the information kiosk, and the decorative rock wall that Bruce blessed the church with. I never quit half way through the job of cleaning out the lobby, and to this day, I have still not moved an ATM. I’m not objective of one. I think it’d be kinda nice to have – it would eliminate the excuse people use for not tithing “I don’t have any cash or my checkbook.” The statement was made “I have attended BNC and saw it myself.
Does Shannon not tell you that it is a SIN TO LIE.” Have you felt convicted for saying this yet?

  21. John says:

Derek Simpkins, you did not answer that yourself, so how can you ask me that too. I have not felt convicted because what I say is first hand from my own experience with Shannon and BNC members. I have been told by BNC members that this and that is not true, I say it because I have seen it myself. If you have any question of what I know, like when Shannon first came here and what he has done, please ask, I will answer you with no problem.

  22. Skipper says:

Hey, I’ll be there on wednesday around noon…can you show me this please? would LOVE to see it myself!

  23. John says:

    Show you what Skipper?

  24. Doug says:

It never ceases to amaze the things people come up with when they have too much time on their hands.

“Do not touch My anointed ones” – God.

Props to Shannon for holding his tongue in the face of baseless slander and in meekness letting God fight His battles for Him.

  25. Whitney says:

This is one of the most powerful, non-scripture writings I have ever read. Thank you for pouring out your heart and being so transparent Shannon. I love reading this and try to read it at least a few times a week. This gets me pumped about the vision of Brandnewchurch…reaching the lost!!

  26. I’ve heard the rumor about the ATM. I never bought into that, myself. BNC is certainly a rumor generator.
