Here at Brand New Church we are focusing our Christmas series on Genesis 12:2-3 “I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.,,and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” We are blessed so we can bless others and that is what we are doing to villages in Africa. We are partnering with Tim Lucas and Liquid Church to clean up Dirty Water. Truth is– right now, 1.1 billion people on the planet don’t have access to clean, safe, drinking water. That’s one in six of us. Dirty water causes 80% of all sickness and disease and kills more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Get Dirty.
LiquidWater.com was founded to bring together people willing to “Get Dirty”– to roll-up their sleeves and bring safe, clean drinking water to the world’s poorest. Most villages in developing nations like Ethiopia have a plentiful supply of freshwater just below the ground in natural aquifers, but no way to get at it. Drilling a well costs an average of $5,000– a pittance to us, but a life-changing gift to those who receive one. The average Clean Water Well provides safe, clean drinking water to a village of 400 for 20 years.
During our “Blessed” series we are raising money to help this amazing cause. Our Christmas Eve services will conclude our campaign and we are believing God to help establish 5 wells!

Shannon: I applaud your efforts to get involved in the clean water scenario. The church I pastor is involved in Advent Conspiracy and partnering with Living Water Intl. Last year, with a Christmas in February, we collected over $1100 for LWI. A church of 190 that also included Samaritan’s Purse shoeboxes, $1000 for a Haiti trip, clothing for Tree of Love (CPC) and $600 for Kidmo. This year our attendance is down due to some situations but we have bested last year’s shoebox total and all the clothing was bought for more families. I am anxious to see what will happen this year.
