Jesus is concerned about us taking His Word and doing what it says. This video is a truth that we cannot deny. Matthew 5:13 says “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.” Not should be salt, but are salt. Salt cannot lose it’s bite unless it becomes so mixed with junk it cannot be flavor. It is a chemical compound (NaCl). Watch and let me know which one you are:

Very thought-provoking, Shannon. You’re on-target about Christians being more sugar than salt. Seth Godin says the same thing another way in his book, Tribes: “the world is dying for lack of leadership.”
If we who profess the name of Jesus Christ as our Lord and our Savior, if we acknowledge Him as God of all gods, we for sure better be salt in our world. We for sure better become leaders. Like you said, Shannon, people want to know what it is about the seat you sit on that makes you different.

When the Holy Spirit abides in you and you get on fire for God and begin to burn up with zeal for the things of God, and when you sweat by serving Him you will become salty. That’s so true in so many ways! The “salt” message was one of the most profound messages that really hit me in the heart! People can live without the sugar but not without the salt. When people live “sugary” lives, they are often looking good on the outside, but are sick on the inside. I think of the porno-2 example of the wonderfully sugary, chocolatey but razor blade laced cake!
Salt IS a pure compound, created by a poisonous gas of chlorine, which can be represented by us (sinners), but combined with the sodium, which is a “rock” a solid (God). “He” combined with “us” makes a PURE substance!
