One more rude comment about Shannon and I may throw up! Seriously people!!! Every time you bad mouth someone or do anything to hurt another, you are questioning God’s creation. And His creation is perfect. So let’s just put a tight rein on these tongues of ours!

Pastor Shannon,

I was reading 1 corinthians and i felt like i should share it with you. It deals with division in the church. I am not eloquent with words, but I feel you need encouragment. God lays the foundation and you build and water it. I was and still am a babe in christ, but God has done amazing things in my heart and mind this past year and you have been the one to water and help it grow by being my shepard. people put thier faith in men and not in Christ, and when things don’t go their way, they fall away. I speak from personal experience. Satan tried to do it to me again at BNC but I have a foundation built on rock not sand and that is because you have allowed God to use you to touch so many lives.. I have so much more to learn. Dont get caught up in the distractions. I am battling satan over my prayer life, he tries to shut me down. I will triumph because i have a higher power that lives in me. Pray for me as i will be praying for you.

Pastor Shannon,

Stay strong and stand on Gods word. satan doesnt like what is happening at brand new church. He is doing everything he can to tear down and destroy what is being built. You remember all the lives that you have touched and changed in this past year alone. I attend the bryant campus and God is doing amazing things. Stay true to Gods Vision. Dont let satan distract you from the mission and vision. I found my destiny when I came to BNC. God has even more amazing plans for us. Dont get discouraged and remember that it is all in Gods hands. It is his perfect plan and he puts people in place. Trust in him.

Ya know you are really messed up when you take the lyrics of two seventies songs and make your own jingle. WOW thanx skipper. On the point. What are your spending your time on? God has it covered. God has Shannon and Cyndi covered. Gods will is going to be done. 23rd Psalm says so. So we can either be about HIS business and waste the time/opps etc.. Take a look at Jesus. He wasn’t at any one place very long. I think He knew people and people breed contempt once they “hang” out to long. He did HIS job and left. Joseph of Arimathea and MARY took to the road after Jesus fully departed this earth to finish what HE started. They started what we now as a “ChURCH.” JESUS its about JESUS…find out what HE did that you are gifted with and DO IT. If you have a prob w/Shannon take it to him personally. Otherwise. Let GO and Let GOD. Almost Spring.. find someone to love on and plant some seeds. Go call someone who has been missing from church. We need some BNC buttons.. little cap buttons..

Our lives ARE our ministry. Why is a ministry position different than a position of ministry in YOUR workplace or area of influence?

The ministry of BNC IS Shannon’s ministry. But it’s also mine! Our ministry is to the LOST, those who are FAR from God.

I have had the privilege to attend some churches with some great pastors. Growing up in Harrison, AR I attended Calvary Baptist. Gene Eidson was the pastor. After college I moved to Little Rock and attended Geyer Springs First Baptist. Paul Sanders and, after Bro. Paul retired, Bruce Chesser were the pastors there. Five years ago, my family and I moved back to Harrison. We started attending Eagle Heights Baptist. Tommy Turner is the pastor there. We began attending Brand New Church in December 2007. If you have noticed I have taken great pains to use the word “attending”. Because unitl June 2008, that’s all I was doing. I went to church because that was what I was supposed to do. I had been attending church my whole life. I professed to be a Christian, but in the immortal words of Fred Garry, I hadn’t done jack sh** for God!!!! On June 1, 2008, JESUS used Shannon O’Dell and a message on suicide (yes, suicide. You should check it out at http://www.brandnewchurch.com. He may use it to change your life too) to knock on my heart’s door one last time. I firmly believe it was the LAST time He was going to do so. I say the last time because it wasn’t the first. He had knocked many times before. In every church I attended, JESUS used the men mentioned above to try to reach me. I was just too stubborn to give up control of my life. Does the fact that I became a Christ follower under Shannon’s leadership make him a better pastor than the other men? Certainly not!!! They were and are doing what they were called to do, preaching the Gospel. JESUS tried to use them to reach me. When I kept saying no, He kept pursuing me and orchestrating events in my life to try to reach me. That Sunday morning in June was just the culmination of His 36 year pursuit. Decision time: if I said yes I would be welcomed into His family and my sins forgiven, never to be remembered by HIM again; if I said no He would leave me alone to let me live my life the way I wanted to never to bother me again. Thank God I said yes.

I must apologize for the length. I could go on there is much more to my story, you should ask me some time. I decided to post this because of Louis post. Do I worship Shannon? Certainly not!! I worship GOD and His one and only son Jesus. I am a member of HIS Church. Louis, I can assure you that the only person being worshipped this weekend and every weekend at BNC will be the KING of Kings. Shannon may be on the stage, but it will be GOD’s word being proclaimed.

For those who are still determined to find fault so they can slander, read 1 Timothy 3:11 where the reference to slander (KJV) is “to those who are given to finding fault with the demeanor and conduct of others, and spreading their innuendos and criticisms in the church” (Vine’s Expository Dictionary). It is important to know that the Greek word used for such action is diabolos, or devil. Slander, then, is alignment with the devil, not with our Lord Jesus Christ.
So if you are not really a part of this situation and/or you are publicly accusing instead of obeying Matthew 18:15-17, you are rebelling against God. Therefore, do what I had to do for the same sin: Confess it to God and repent, determining to only obey the Scriptures. Then, let’s get busy together and advance God’s kingdom.
