What are you Focused On?

By Shannon O'Dell / Posted on 06 August 2009

T-Shirt-I-lack-focus-794536Right now…what are you focused on? Past, Present or Future? Right this instant..what is directing your day, emotions, relationships, job performance, marriage and expectations. Is it what you don’t have, the weak supervisor, lack of resources, insufficient skills, bad marriage or overwhelming insecurity? Today you need…Jesus Focus to experience great decision making and success!! Jesus has to shape your mind so that you can experience true joy and God given fulfillment!

How do I gain Jesus focus:
1) Have Christ Attitude:
Philippians 2:5 “You attitude should be the same as that of Jesus Christ.”
You have at your disposal the power of Jesus attitude…so use it!!
2 Corithians 2:5 “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
You have God’s power to direct your attitude focus!! Don’t let your emotions or waking bed displacement set your expection.

2) Have a Target!
What is your target or goal? Here is the beginning goal:
2Corinthians 5:9 “So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.”
Galatians 3:3 “Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort?”
Don’t try this by yourself…let it happen through The Holy Ghost!!
Philippians 3:14 “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Most start their day without a goal…going to work is not a goal, it’s a typical going. Have a goal once you get there that exceeds making it to 5 pm…look to make a God given difference. Most people do not have a goal or target for each day. Your goal is based on your belief system. Which leads us to the last point:

3) Believe System
Your belief system will direct your focus. How do you know you are being directed with the right map and system of truth? The Word of God!!
Psalms 1:2 “But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.”
If you want daily spiritual success start with this passage of Scripture:
2 Peter 1:5-7 “make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.”
Look at the guarantee: verse 8 “For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Effective and Productive belief system happens when you stay true to God’s promise which equals REAL FOCUS!!

The Word of God is the ticket for Great Focus so immerse yourself in it today!! We will be directing you through 30 topics this weeknd answered straight from God’s Word to help you focus on truth…don’t miss it.

As I said I focus so much at times on people accepting me that I completely lose focus on everything else, because my emotions take over. In just the last 30 minutes as I was meeting with my boss he told me, that I am very concern about acceptance! It really got me thinking! I realize that when I was a kid I was rejected all the time, because I fat,or slow, the wrong color of skin, or perhaps It was my personality, never good enough for my parents!!I have been dragging this with me for a long time until now!I focused on people underestimating me,because they only know who I am when they are around me,but my heart the true persona that I am they don’t know!! I guess is because everyone has a different story, mine was that I’ve been working since I was 8 years old!we never had a vacation, or toke any field trips with school my summer was pretty much migrating from one state to other to work!! so really my childhood was adult hood and now I tend to a bit more relax, but I cant expect people to be at the same level that I am because everyone has a different story! Emotionally I am torn because all I have done is worry about my self and feelings, n for 20 years all I have to do is let God take care of it for me! Thank you!!
