What I am Learning From Brett Favre

By Shannon O'Dell / Posted on 23 October 2009

favre_vikesBrett Favre turned 40 on the 10th of October and is an inspiration for the late thirty and early forty-something “wanna be” athletes (not me, but people I know) out there. The Vikings go into this weekend with an 6-0 record. I know as a leader there are so many things that I have learned from him this year…here are just a few:

1) If you quit, you can still come back…
Nay sayers and sideline commentators are a dime a dozen, but leaders make decisions regardless of the press. He didn’t listen to those who said he shouldn’t, couldn’t and wouldn’t!
2) Recognize you don’t have to be the A Player, you just have to lead A Players…
Brett Favre compromises defenses not with his passing only, but with the all star rushing of Adrian Peterson. Having people better than you around you is the key! Which is the reason we just hired “The Change Group”…check them out at thechangegroup.tv
3) Passion is contagious!
The Vikings would not have the 6-0 season with Tavaris Jackson (even though his is a former Razorback). Passion and effective leadership is contagious. Watch this:

Let’s inspire the world with effective leadership and passion as we grow His Church! Many of you need to come out of retirement spiritually, no matter what others are telling you, and get back in the game!

Thanks Brett!
