Santa Claus and The Body of Christ have nothing in common!! When you start talking about “The Church” there are many comparisons:
#1 Very little has changed
Still wearing the same suit…
Still playing the same song…
Still driving the same car…(so afraid the congregants will think he is getting paid too much)
#2 Very few relationships
Stays in hiding until service time.
#3 Does not understand Grace
Still operating with the Naughty or Nice list.
#4 Confuses what Christmas is all About
Gives more in presents to the fortunate than the less fortunate.
#5 Outward appearance is Undisciplined
Feels like that is not really that important
“What’s the big deal with a belly like a bowl full of jelly?!”
#6 They love Tradition
The etymology of the word tradition includes the word “trade” and “betrayal”.
Think how much truth has been trading for tradition.
Let’s keep adding to the list…give me some better ideas that you were thinking. More importantly let’s focus our Local Churches on Truth this Christmas…Jesus Christ Emmanuel!

I’m gonna have to with the fact that so many people look to the Church to see what (as in material things) the church can give them, and they forget about the spirit of the season. In our culture, it seems like everyone wants something they can hold in their hand, and forget about holding what is important in their heart.
