Network!

By Shannon O'Dell / Posted on 27 October 2010

After completing our first coaching network session yesterday I am on fire! Networking with other pastors/leaders is a must. The Lone Ranger days of pastoring are done. I learned more yesterday than I could have ever imagined. Here are the highlights:

#1 If you don’t network with other pastors/leaders you will be in a leadership vacuum.

#2 An idea is exciting, but a collaboration of ideas is POWER.

#3 God is doing great things everywhere….especially South Dakota, Indiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee and Arkansas!

#4 Leadership and Vision are the most important attributes of pastor…these come from a passionate walk with God.

#5 Everyone wants to know how to do things more EFFICIENTLY.

#6 Pastors need each other…

#7 Every church needs more leaders, volunteers and staff.

#8 Youth Pastors are some of the most effective pastors.

#9 Every church can have an excellent iCampus for about $1000.

#10 Each core leader in your church must RESONATE the vision and every pastor must CELEBRATE the vision.

#11 Vision is something that can be understood in the mind, but must be felt in the gut!

#12 Most Rural Pastors are battling the EXACT same issues.

I thank God for the men I am learning from in this coaching network!

I am very thankful that you stay so “filled up”…so you can “spill it out” all over us. You are a great leader.

  2. It is truly amazing to see and hear what God is doing in Rural America thru the obedience of willing pastors to share and give input to help others!

It was an awesome day! Thanks for all you’re doing. After an all-night drive back to SD (got to bed at 2:30 am) I am in the office and already anticipating our next get together. Going to seriously consider the deer hunt option.

Why try and do it alone? Even Spongebob Square Pants has a Patrick! This world is so full of people living the George Lopez life-”I Got This”. We need others. Because of this leadership network, I now have 14 more “other brothers” in my life. Can’t wait to meet again!

I agree!! I hope my schedule will fit so that I can make the next network you have. I will be coming through your area this coming Tuesday morning going to Branson. Will there be anybody there at Brand New Church? I wanted to see your main campus if possible.

I agree with the truths you shared. I am going to be coming through your area this coming Tuesday morning on my way to Branson. I was wondering if anybody would be at Brand New Church. I wanted to drop by and see the church.

  10. Steve Hill says,

Being from Indiana, I really liked number 3. But I would definitely say that the church community that spans from Nashville to Atlanta is one of the most compelling to me.

Just getting acquainted with this ministry and wondering how to network and get more involved. blessings. Mike Wilder

Also I see that you have some partners in Indiana. I am working in 6 rural counties in Indiana with only 1 SBC church in the entire areal. Need help.
I also work with counties in Illinois.

I am eagerly awaiting the announcement of a new semester. I Pastor in a small resort community, and have had a great start, but need help growing in my leadership abilities.
    Anything more specific than Spring?
