Questions I am Asking

By Shannon O'Dell / Posted on 23 August 2011

Just asked these questions of myself and realized some sobering truths. #1 If change does not take place in our church we will be a traditional church in 5 years…#2 I am getting less apt and flexible to change.
So I throw these questions your way to ponder.
What is the purpose of your task?
What are your avenues of motivation for your team?
What are your leadership gifts?
What do you not know?
What have you changed recently?
Is timely decision making a priority?
Who’s following you?
How adaptable are you?
How focused are you?
Tell me about your mindset concerning ministry, money, management?
What are your priorities?
How responsible are you?
Are you generous?

God is changing me at this moment and our team through these simple questions. Get the right people at the table and ask away.

  1. Thanks for this info. I am stressed about our future and not wanting us to be a “traditional” church…. Thanks for keeping ahead of the curve so I can force myself around the curve….

  2. Shannon, have you thought about getting outside Pastors such as Pastors of Super on the edge churches to be on your Trustee board?

Good questions Shannon. The question I am trying to get our people to wrestle with is ?#1. Will we still be a traditional church that is not making a difference to reach the next generation? Just don’t know if the people want to make the necessary changes. It is hard to break away from years of traditionalism.
