How I Spell Vision

2011 brings new dreams, thoughts, ideas and they must be lead through vision. Habakkuk 2:3 “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Take this first Monday morning of 2011 and just review your vision.

Here is how I spell vision:
V-ALUE
Your vision is always anchored by what you value. You will have vision for what you believe is the most important. Faith, family, finances and your future all need a clear direction with dreams and purpose.
I-NTENTIONAL
Nothing great happens without being intentional. Vision does not just happen; you must set your mind to make it happen. Most vision is just “good intentions”…you start well, but never finish. Be intentional daily – seeing it through. One thing you must be intentional about is who will share in your vision implementation. Don’t have the wrong people on board, only visionaries. Deuteronomy 22:10 “Do not plow with an ox and a donkey yoked together.” You will only plow in circles.
S-ACRIFICE
Nothing of greatness comes through nothingness. It is a work out! You must give and give and give and give.
I-NITIATIVE
Start today, but initiate the vision. Create a vision team, share your plans with someone, blog about it, text someone and do it today. Vision is waiting on you. Be an initiator this year with the dream you have always wanted to see.
O-PPORTUNITY
Seize it right now…this is the opportune time. There is always another “op” when you seize God sized opportunity…opposition. Our culture resists change and they resist those who take a chance on something new. Someone is going to hurt you, talk about you, lie about you, laugh at you, but you must stay optimistic.
N-VISION
I know it’s a stretch and it’s a misspell, but it works. N-vision now what you want your dream to look like. Speak it, pray it, share it, and believe God for it.

  1. 2011 Vision for….

My ministry – I’m praying for and believing God to provide massive flood of attendants, members, and servants!

My faith – I always want to grow in faith. Being the type that likes to have the details worked out well ahead of time, I am begging God to break me so that I will learn to rely only on him in all situations… I BELIEVE Him to do it… but it’s hard to put that into motion.

My Family – You, among most that know me, know that God’s already doing huge things in that aspect. He’s blessed me with Amanda and Karley, some wonderful future in laws, and an awesome church family… My vision for my family is to be the leader that God’s called me to be, and also to be a light for any of my family that may be lost. Living it and mentioning it hasn’t broken through to some yet, so I’m believing God for the boldness and assertiveness to win them over for the cause of Christ.

Finances – God’s already at work in a huge way here! He didn’t want to wait til 2011. My vision for my finances is to get a better grasp on when what is due, being early with it, managing and saving money, and working on that over-and-above part of giving.

Future – Early in 2011, I will be getting married and begin a family! I “n-vision” my future as being a great leader, husband, father, and friend in my family. My future in ministry, of course, is always going to whatever God calls me to, but I’m believing God for taking my current ministry to the next level!

2011 is off to a great start!
